The America’s special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan said: “If the Taliban are waiting for U.S withdrawal from Afghanistan, They are wrong, because NATO will not leave Afghanistan until they achieve their goals”.

The U.S senior government official added that Washington is trying to encourage NATO to further support Afghanistan in the Warsaw and Brussels meetings that will be held on July and October.

Richard Olson, America’s special envoy said that NATO and European countries should announce a clear commitment in Warsaw and Brussels meetings to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan, according to Atlantic council report.

Emphasizing on the support of Afghan government’s peace talks with Taliban, Olson said Taliban must understand that they will never get into power again through military means and the spread of violence.

The Taliban should understand they have no other option unless joining the peace process, said Olson.

The U.S special envoy further stated that Afghanistan will gain new commitments from its allies and supporters at Warsaw and Brussels summits, as previously announced that donor countries will financially support Afghan government’ security forces until 2020.

Richard Olson said NATO will not leave Afghanistan unless it acquires its goals in the country.
